Au Pairing in Italy: Diary #5: Florence + Matera

A couple weekends ago I went to Florence. I stayed with my host dad's sister and her family and it was lovely. Her 21 month her old son is the cutest chipmunk i've gotten to play with, and the bright energy in the house was calming and invigorating at the same time. I walked over 25 miles all weekend, ate gelato twice, and tried to avoid too many American study abroad students. I also got the chance to see the family who hosted me there 5 years ago when I was one of those American study abroad students. We ate dinner and talked about Iran, politics, and the passing of time.
